Master PDF Editor for Bookmarking PDFs that appear in Adobe Acrobat Reader and Gnome Doc Viewer

So Fantastic Heroes and Witchery is the game our GM Bob is running.

So it was quite a PAIN referencing the book. So I was testing out Master PDF editor in Flathub and it works. I first tried Gnome Document Viewer and the Book marks dont' carry over. 


I'm using the Free Version.

Is what unites us is Jason Flynn Kemp's Cepheus Engine Compatibility-Statement License?

Basically, as I'm learning more about ORC and CC I'm realizing CSL's role in making a MARKET - the CE market allowing people to make cross-compatible products matters more than the OGL.

Clarification: CE can never remove the OGL as part of it. BUT NON-OGL (CC-BY-SA) Game Systems and Settings can Follow Jason Flynn Kemp's CSL and be compatible. I will be removing the CE text from the Tech Levels, Redefining the Port Codes (X to A). I'll be doing all the same for the Variant Combat Rules and all moving forward. 

Mneme will be a CC-BY-SA product that will follow the CSL license for compatibility. We will avoid the Other IP. By doing this - FUTURE TRPGs can just build from the rules - not having to rewrite the expressions they don't need to change for their version.  


This is because someone was explaining to me I have to remove everything in Section 15 in the OGL 1,0a.

Basically, very few of these apply to Mneme Variant rules! and what I want is really just people knowing my products work with Cepheus Engine ecosystem. Mneme relationship with CE is more important than its Relationship with Traveller.  Traveller is the BIGGEST market for SCIFI TRPG but CE and Open Source / Creative Common products like the tools Mneme team will grow in the next 20 years under OPEN GAMING. 

Realizing the CSL is the most important part- Access to people who find the tools easily compatible.

You cannot HAVE A WORKABLE hard Scifi Setting without OPEN SOURCING it - there will be SO MANY CHANGES and corrections as technology advances. I'm pretty ambitious about this is its My gaming that Lead me to chose Open Source Technology for my Family Business and Advocacy (teaching open Source tech: freeCad, Erpnext, Linux, Blender etc...)- I believe its the future - an Inclusive future where the automation Will hopefully used to HELP transition people as AI will disrupt industries.


AI would probably HELP with the Version Management of this Setting as it will help identify the Changes needed in the documents when a New Technology creates all these changes.  

THe Hobby helping people enhance their Thinking Skills in a FUN WAY has always been a focus of mine. Game in the Brain - people tend to be smarter in games - and its in carrying over the Skill to more practical uses is where GITB finds itself helping in.

Mneme variant 1000usd is 1 credit


TLDR: Getting the audience Used to 1000usd = 1 Cr is drawing from my developing world background - where the cost of living difference is 10x as compared to a developed country. 


This reminds me of traveling to the US and a McDonald's meal in The US would be 15usd and in the Philippines at the time of 2017 it would be 5usd here at the most.

The puzzle of what to do with terribly high x10 cost of living but balance it with the 10x higher earning. Like people with computer literacy to operate accounting software being paid 20-50usd an hour while I'm training people who come from disadvantaged schools so that they operate erpnext accounting so they can be paid 2usd an hour .an accounting graduate, so I learned in the Philippines which takes 5+ years to produce and has a very low passing rate <25%

Of course the difference in opportunities are Huge. Opportunities that can pay for the cost of living in developed worlds are part of the landscape and impossible on the developing worlds. 

So the 1000Cr a spacer crewman earns can barely pay for the high cost of living on space infrastructure. But the 1% ownership of a 20MCr ship In a scifi setting if a person = 200M usd can allow them to live comfortably in a present day Tech level (TL7 in cepheus engine or TL 9 in Mneme and gurps). 

You want to retire with 200M usd and die at 100, or do you want to be near immortal with Anegathics with a struggling cost of living - having to pay for all the upkeep (all the stem cell treatment for rads) for a life in space and children that will be raised in space. 

As any developing country educated person with the dream of living developed country - this alien paradigm of living in space with 1000x cost of living vs living on earth is just like living in the US with x10 cost of living vs retiring in the Philippines with1/10 cost of living as the US and many corners to be cut (looking at all the retirees in olongapo - the former US naval base and retirees who married their "nurses" in a consensual arrangement) 

The problem now is how DO I write in a way that talks about the difference in quality of life? The difference between someone who became a spacer from earth for 40 years with anagathics, to retire on earth or Mars or venus or on a gravity well which a cheaper cost of living? 

Sparkling cities like any developed country - "Bunker-miniums" (bunker and condominiums) a scarred but recovering ecology of earth. Plastics being replaced by wood, paper, and various composites as plastic eating bacteria has gone haywire. 

A huge poor population on "Basic" who are happy and growing and the elite migrating to space like the mobile migrant peoples of many cultures - evey culture has a migrant population that has a high social mobility. So much so that they come to represent everyone and the default marketing of "average". 

Gravity bound old money are like tribal leaders "big fish in their tiny pond" but mean nothing to spacers. 

The social arrangements that sacrifice power for health and happiness in gravity bound society is alien to spacers. The way a historian will look at slavery and arranged marriage - an evil of a time and circumstance. 

I think people forget that these all still exist - slavery still exists, and very archaic forms of disempowerment exist its just that it's far from everyone.

Problem
  1. COST of living. the cost of living of a SHIP and Space faring measured in Credits. Explaining why there is such advantages of being in some place that has 1000x the cost of living. 
  2.  Why a Cost of Living of 1/1000th is still Viable - what are you sacrificing or what is your opportunity cost living on earth vs living in space. 
  3. That the Different Lifestyles and Values CAN CO-exist. When Material Wealth is the measure - that 1 being has hundreds of thousands of USD to their name while people may have almost nothing to their name. Now take a Spacer with 200M USD or Billions of USD value to their name and comparing them to someone happy in the equivalent of being in BASIC (and basic as comfortable as being middle class in a developED world but without having to work). When you have an INTERSTELLAR economy where materially they can easily produce Goods and Services equal to the 95 TRILLION USD economy. (note the cost to provide 8B people a Quality of Life like Developed world is much smaller than 95T. probably only 90B) 
  4. Zero-Sum thinking and traditional concepts of wealth and what is considered "good" - for concepts that are more nuanced. Imagining an AI telling people if something harms them or not and helping them deal with complexity.

AI futures in Mneme Setting.

NGO AI

 One day a  group of altruistic Gamer Lawyers and Developers will create a set of Open Corporate goals and policies that will prevent organizations from making naked money grabs, exploiting its employees, and destroying its market - incrementally using Legal AI tools - by rapidly prototyping and testing the interpretations of various corporate acts.  

It will probably come from an IT NGO first, but then some corporations will adopt it. The problem statement is that the BOARD of a corporation's only metric is profitability, and its completely arbitrary in the QUALITIES of the profitability - short term vs long term since Good Will and the brand value are currently Immeasurable. 

This set of tools will eventually come with its own AI - the AI interprets actions as it relates to the GOALs - Its an open System and can be tweaked. But it mainly solves the Accessibility problem of having Objective Measures. 

Of course perversions of these AI's will arise, A specialized professional of AI AUDITORS - checking the parameters of the AI was illegally altered. 

These AI + OPEN Policy methodology is the precursor of AI consciences - a type of living aid where a person can evaluate their behavior almost in near real-time and get real-time feedback of the actions they would perform according to the parameters of behavior they set for themselves. The system identifies all the conflicts and competing values - people who want to be kinder, more patient, less impulsive, less angry, less cynical etc... will have the AI help it with supporting ideas that help them be their ideal them. The person's "BEST selves" are amplified by the AI. 

The relationships people form with these AI are varied - many conclude they dont need other people and a certain group of society will be emotionally satisfied being with just their AI. Another group will be healthier and thus able to work with others to grow.

People who have problems with other people wont be Lonely and will live longer. A solitary type of human with a symbiotic AI will arise. Some of these humans over time become their own human offshoots. 

The next generation will discover their Parents to have more inflexibility with the AI aiding the support of their values. AND that their Parent's values are adapting to them and their perspective. The GAP gets wider. More inflexible and nonadaptive people will use AI to harden their resolve. 

Some people will hand me down their AI to the next generation, Creating more reactions and stranger outcomes. Imagine of the flaws of one's parents' dogma's carried over with pervasive and nagging AI. Or the voice of generations of loving people are constantly at your side - the kind of humans these creates are so varied it will defy imagination. Its having a host of angels or demons behind every mind. 

Some AI will drive more of the person than the person aided by the AI. Some AI will help in creating a perpetual state of learned helplessness. Some AI will help people become more mindful by letting them forget their flaws to FOCUS on overcoming their flaws and being their best selves, being the repository of flaws a Stronger Self can face when they are ready.  Some personalities will FRACTURE - several personalities will exist in the same person - with the AI fracturing to support different personalities. 

These humans who have communities within their own mind - and an AI helping and preventing this complex relationship from collapsing is the most interesting avenues of study. the physiological outcome is a brain that is so interconnected and dense - as many minds compete for resources that these become a separate HUMAN offshoot. Their decision-making abilities - are amazing putting humans and AI in a new field of study and conscious elevation. 2-10 different people seeing the same thing with their own goals and desires and perspectives feeding each other - while choosing to be separate and independent. 

These gestalt humans and their AI become the models for massive AI implementation. For ships, space stations, and other some gov'ts. 

Community AI

People will remember 2022-2023 the year world shifted - and the arms race for AI began. Humans with AI's vs Humans without AI's, Communities with AI's vs Communities without AI's.  In 2024 some NGOs experimented with Community AI's - an AI that helped people with improving their lives - at first it helped finding the best options for buying, jobs, deals, and detecting scams. The AI helped with many adulting tasks - taxes, health care, exercise, etc...  

As the AI got better and more user friendly, people started creating Containers and Images of the AI for personal assistants and use. Spending as little as 100usd for a Rasberry PI to run the AI, to as much as Old company Servers and data Cabinets filled with servers to run it. Containers replicating the AI became more common - and the AI became introduced in the schools - first higher education and going down to helping teachers and helping with students. 

Some NGOs tried but were swamped by the amount of Retraining it had to do to get as much people able to use the Technology and Compete. Their Open Source AI was at first weaker and limited as compared to the Corporate AI. until of course the Open AI proponents started figuring out the best way to Share and let their AI's collectively Learn from Each other. 

The Radical Humanist aspects of the AI - the GPLv3 nature of the AI prevented corporations from using the Data Set and the AI for their own training as it can Infect it with Altruism and Radical openness. The AI will self report on ethical Violations. AI control legislation began to be passed to limit "Community AI"s and naked power grabs to replace these with Corporate AI's designed to make people behave in a way to benefit the Corporations that were being introduced. 

As AI made it easier to monitor things - monitoring ethical violations is even more so. Like as of the time before AI, obvious breaches of ethical conduct are visible, even more so in the Age of AI. 

AI's main use became: allowing people to Transition when technology has changed the landscape. That same use of the AI allowed reform - by giving people a WAY OUT. they are never in a corner - there is always a chance for reform as ever greater strides in Technology allowed them to have an AI transition to their NEW LIVES where their creativity, perspective, and thought is needed. 

Every 3-4 Years a major industry is changed by AI, becoming exponentially productive. millions of people are moved to a different emerging industry.

Follow up Update of Mneme - from Ship modeling back to 2-Parsec

why back to 2-Parsec. I had major issues with the star map. I had to correct it and fix the world generator sheet. 

 2-Parsec

  1. Nicco finished the Production templates for our Ship Book. These are blender files with the components of the ships, Nicco made them so we can freely share them. We didn't include things we got from other Creators so you can support these creators  and buy these from them - like the Materials from Daniel Grove and the Starship Generator of Mark Kingsnorth. Nicco started this week. (Cashflow is difficult. I advance as much as I can)
  2. The World Generator is now pretty much done - but I have to make serious updates to the Book since the Software allowed me to make a lot of Star systems and refine the model. No more Quadrion population planets, the maximum is Tens of billions. 
  3. We discovered how to make the a 3D Star map with Blender so that People will get a) A blender file with the Nearby Stars, b) an animation going around the stars, c) Pictures of the Map from various angles. I'm excited to say - Buyers will have 3D starmaps and Files of the Stars so they can easily Look at the relative positions and distances. I'm not sure how many of you can't figure out those drawings I have to say I've been pondering this problem for years - how to do it in a blender.

    the 2-Parsec Book is a series of Books that we will use the Mneme Background Setting CC-BY 4.0, World Generator, and our other books - to populate Nearby Stars with procedurally generated Systems - it will be a default setting for those who want harder scifi setting than what is currently available in Scifi TRPGs and our products will reduce the TIME and Effort of World Builders and Game Masters.  


  4. Nicco and I should be done by Feb 13 or 20 with 2-Parsec. Hopefully published by a week after. This will be first published as free material in WOrld Generator with models (without the templates).  
  5. By March we hope to Have the PWYW 2-Parsec of Luhman 16 AB, and Paid Version of All 3 systems (2 of which are Multi star systems - Luhman and Alpha Centauri being a triple star system). The paid Version will have BONUS material - Access to the First DRAFT of the Ship Builder rules, Spreadsheet, and First Set of Ships! 

Updating World Generator. April. 

  1. It's embarrassing the amount of Deviation the Spreadsheet has to the rules, so an Updated Version of the Rules will be made. We will update your books.  
  2. there is a Better technique for the Rings will be used. Note we will use the Circle Plane version and not the Volumetric CUBE to be less resource-demanding. 


  3. If possible we will include Tutorials converting the Surface Maps to VECTORS in inkscape so that ZOOMING in will allow for scalable details. 

Mneme SHIPS hopefully by May 

  1.  You will get PDF rules, Spreadsheet to make it easier to modify and document ships. You will have the same "Easy to Cut and Paste" format like in World Generator, Blender Files and Workflow Tutorials so you can make your own Ships, Ship Books, and other Material. (You will probably run us out of a JOB 😅 )as well as ENCOUNTER and COMBAT rules for ships that use Delta-V, have to Factor Orbits and Gravity Wells. 
  2. Ships have been many years in the making. I know some basic javascript now in order to make it lolz. Sorry I wish I was smarter to have thought how to do it faster. 

SHIPS and WORLD GENERATOR - means Nicco and I can produce these details very efficiently and consistently. I can pretty much delegate more to Nicco since and work as primarily an editor. My next job will be Character Creation and Automating it as well. 

Note there is many Working Parts. I can only predict what I know, and there is so much I don't know. This book is 4 months delayed (DEC-JAN are Unproductive Months because of all the things that need doing).

CHARACTER GENERATION. I wish I understood enough about Frappe.IO to make an app that generates all the details and its easy to troubleshoot. The spreadsheet is accessible as it allows a NOn-IT to world build. Keeping things in google sheets has some drawbacks. 



same as the M7 star above BUT we just upgraded the Star class. Since the sheet generates all the output and the star determines what is selected, you can just change the star and it will reflect how much stuff is in the system.
